David Alexander is the CEO of Sheer Publishing (Pty) Ltd, the fastest growing independent music publishing company in South Africa. Sheer Publishing represents African songs and songwriters for the world. Sheer Publishing also represents international Publishers for Southern Africa and Africa – some of their clients are Kobalt Music, Songs Music and Capitol CMG

David serves on the Board of the MPA - SA and is the Treasurer on the Board of CAPASSO which is a mechanical collection society and has agreements with the recording industry, broadcasters as well as internet and mobile operators.

David is also the Chairman of Samex (South African Music Exports) which hosts SA National Pavilions at Womex, Midem and Popkomm. Samex also has trade links with music industry trade shows in Brazil and Australia and is a part of BEMA – which is the African Music Export Council.

David has given papers and served on panels at music industry conferences such as Porto Musicale (The Brazilian Music Exhibition) and the Wami Conference (Western Australian Music Industry) as well as at Moshito. David has also participated as a Mentor at Womex.

David has a Bachelor of Social Science degree from the University of Cape Town, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Thames Valley University and has completed various World intellectual Property Organisation courses on Copyright and related subjects.

David is a member of EO - Entrepreneurs Organisation and is the CHair of Strategic Alliances on the Johannesburg Board
