Nobody has a career trajectory quite like ASCAP country songwriter Mike Reid. In 1970, he was drafted to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he became one of the NFL’s best pass rushers and twice made the Pro Bowl. 10 years after retiring from football Reid found himself on the Grammy Awards stage, winning Best Country Song for his Ronnie Milsap hit “Stranger in My House.” It was just one of many highlights of a varied music career that also encompasses hit solo records, seven musicals, co-writing the Bonnie Raitt classic “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and an induction to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. In this Master Session, Reid explains how he was able to successfully change directions so many times. He’ll also treat the EXPO to a selection of some of his best loved songs.
