The Economics of a Hit Songwriter: Master Session with Savan Kotecha
Becoming a hit songwriter takes more than innate talent. It also takes time, money and hustle to hone your craft and build a network of collaborators and supporters. Few songwriters know this better than Savan Kotecha. Years before he was writing #1 hits for Ariana Grande, One Direction and Maroon 5, Kotecha sent out demo tapes to anyone who would listen, and traveled to Sweden to learn from pop’s greatest minds. His tenacity has brought him incredible success. In this Master Session, Kotecha will discuss the unseen costs of building a career, and outline how the economics of being a songwriter are changing as we speak. It’s sure to be an inspiring panel, one that offers hope and a call to action for songwriters struggling to support themselves while they achieve their dreams.
