Cheryl got her start in music working at a New York City hip-hop recording studio before transitioning to the advertising industry as a commercial composer. During this time, she developed her own songwriting chops, formed a band, and starting making records. She found herself touring the world, from the streets of LA to the mountains of Switzerland. Her three piano-pop records have garnered over 40 TV and film placements, including So You Think You Can Dance, Community, Switched at Birth and All My Children. Her commercial work includes Honey Nut Cheerios’ “Grumpy Cat” ad, Ziploc, Lysol, Lowes and many more. In 2011, Cheryl founded CBE Music LLC, a music and branding company providing branding strategies, sonic solutions, scores, & songs to give films, videos, ads, and brands that extra punch.
Through her years composing, touring, and making a living as a musician, Cheryl learned that everyone has something to share. She made it her purpose to be a catalyst for expression through creativity and partnership and created In The Key Of Success - a musicians’ resource website hosting courses, workshops and coaching. She has spoken at dozens of colleges and conferences like SXSW on topics like creating a profitable music career and utilizing music in marketing. Cheryl graduated from Cornell University and studied orchestration at The Juilliard School of Music.
