Garrett McElver

Assistant Music Coordinator

Garrett McElver has worked in music licensing and publishing for over three years running the Creative Department at Winogradsky/Sobel. He's now the latest member to join the SuperMusicVision team. SuperMusicVision is the vehicle for the creative and professional work of Los Angeles based music supervisor, producer, and DJ Thomas Golubić, along with his talented group of colleagues. Whether it be music supervision for smart, compelling television like Breaking Bad or Six Feet Under, assembling soundtracks for escapist movies like After the Sunset, pitching cutting edge and pre-release music for flashy television advertising for Apple or Nissan, or creating and producing mash-ups for Levis spots, we leap into each project with enthusiasm and energy.

An alumnus of Cal State Northridge's Music Industry Studies program, he graduated at the top of his class and was involved in several leadership positions for campus-wide events, including Co-Executive Producer for the independent record label Five of Five Music Entertainment. In addition, he has studied recording engineering and is experienced with website development and social media.

Originally from San Luis Obispo, CA - he also has a performance background playing guitar and singing in various projects, including a 2009 tour that performed at the Vans Warped Tour. He still enjoys performing today, but it has taken a back seat to allow focus on working with artist's who've truly crafted their careers.

At an early age, Garrett had toyed with the idea of going to film school, as he has a strong passion for storytelling and the art of collaboration that goes into a production. He started out creating original programs for the local public access station and editing videos for a non-profit foundation, he went on to PA for multiple independent features, has assisted on several music videos, and helped create festival winning short films. However, his heart was always in studying music. He eventually realized that music supervision was the perfect blend of his interests and after meeting Thomas in 2012, he knew that the SMV team was what he had been looking for.
