Steve Berman

Interscope Geffen A&M
Vice Chairman
Just six months after the inception of Interscope Records in 1991, co-founder Jimmy Iovine enlisted Steve Berman to head the innovative label’s marketing and sales effort.  Since then, the Interscope brand has grown from one of the most successful independent record companies in history into Interscope Geffen A&M, a major division within global music leader Universal Music Group.  In 2005, Berman was named President, Marketing and Sales, Interscope Geffen A&M, and in 2010 was elevated to the new post of Vice Chairman, while continuing his Marketing and Sales duties.  A third-generation music executive, Berman’s grandfather was Si Waronker, who founded Liberty Records.  The Los Angeles-born Berman began his career in 1981 as a teenager in the mailroom at Warner Bros. Records, where his uncle, Lenny Waronker, was President.  He later joined WEA Distribution as National Marketing Coordinator and subsequently was named Director of West Coast Marketing, before joining Interscope Records.
